February Lacquer Legion Submission Featuring Essie

February’s Lacquer Legion submission was created from a manicure I found on Essie, and I decided to recreate it but with Essie’s Ignite the Night instead of Chinchilly. The problem is that as lovely as this Sssssexy is, I have never been able to create passable magnetic nail art with it.

Essie nail art – In A Cinch: This was my inspiration for February’s Lacquer Legion Submission. #LLadoration

Because it was only barely visible on one nail, I decided to add some studs from the Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Stud Kit to salvage the situation. Such a shame, especially since I use Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color as well and have never had a problem. Maybe that’s why I have it in every color.

It’s a shame that I could not make the magnetic nail art work with this project. The polish is Essie’s Sssssexy magnetic nail polish.

I hope to see some of your contributions to the Lacquer Legion’s monthly nail challenge. If you do decide to take part, please, please, please let me know so I can give you as much support as you give me.

January Lacquer Legion Submission Featuring Jacqueline Quinn’s Diamond Silver Bracelet

Created with Sally Hansen Magnetic nail color in Cosmic Blue and Essie Hors D’oeuvres nail lacquer from the 2013 Encrusted Treasures Collection.

I wanted to share my submission for the Lacquer Legion’s January Challenge. The challenge was titled “Reinvention” but my submission was based on my current manicure of which I was testing magnetic nail polishes. I wasn’t attracted to these type of polishes at first but now I love playing with them. They can be expensive, but I found a set of four at Walmart a couple of weeks ago for $10 and there are some pretty good deals on Amazon as well.  I have also gained a new respect for photography, and I will be shopping for a camera that is not attached to a phone soon. As if I needed a reason to shop.

Jacqueline Quinn Diamond Silver Bracelet

Like a lot of people, I was reluctant to share my lackluster skills but I had to find a way to show the Jacqueline Quinn Diamond Silver Bracelet. I covet her Gabrielle clutch, and I wear this provocative bracelet all the time, and it is a testament to why she is one of the coolest designers around. I can’t even call her trendy because she supersedes that term.

In addition to her fabulous bags and jewelry, Jacqueline’s newest contribution to the fashion world is the Sara Emanuel Fall 2014 collection. While Jacqueline will not be showing at Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week F/W 2014, the Sara Emanuel line will be previewing at the Refinery Hotel on February 23, 2014. Check out the video for a closer look at Jacqueline and the Sara Emanuel line and stay tuned for more on Jacqueline Quinn and her newest success.

Introducing The Lacquer Legion

This is just a quick post notifying everyone of a new contest/challenge I found on one of my favorite nail blogs, the Nailasaurus. My interest in nail art started at least a decade ago before it was main stream, but I was more of an admirer than a producer. It wasn’t until I saw this image at The Nailasaurus that I was inspired enough to attempt some of the designs myself, especially when I saw what was created in some of these insane challenges were by some of the top nail artists globally.

Don’t let that reality deter you from participating. It’s easy to do; follow the prompt directions, post your submission with your interpretation of that month’s theme. January’s Theme is: “Reinvention” and don’t forget to include the hashtag #LLreinvention, which will work across all social media platforms. No matter where you post your submission, you will be connected with other nail art enthusiasts participating in the challenge. This is going to be a fun, low-commitment, and inspirational social event.

See Ya!
