Remember these? I do, and I really didn’t like them when they were in trendy in the 80s after Adidas sponsored the 1980 Olympics, and I’m on the fence now. It’s not the shorts fault; I have a very disturbing memory of these shorts revealing too much of an already gross male’s nuts and bolts, if you know what I mean. There is just too much room for error with that side slit.
The warm weather has brought out a new generation of running shorts, and they are not as loose, some are quite tight actually, and Top Shop is selling them in a wide variety of colors and prints with a side panel so the TMI issue is resolved.
I want to personally thank Nike for reducing the TMI issue with these 2-in-1 running shorts.
They even made an appearance at London Fashion Week over leggings at Sibling’s Spring 2013 Menswear show last week.
Fashion blogger Chiara Ferragni steps out wearing a pair of cheeky black American Apparel running shorts with a pair of strappy black heels. A grey Markus Lupfer sweater and a 3.1 Phillip Lim clutch bag complete her sporty ensemble. What’s your opinion on running shorts? On trend or keep it moving?
