Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!! I thought I would challenge myself today and see if I could write a post in an hour. I am stepping up my speed, (or trying to) and I thought, I’ll do something celebratory – St. Patrick’s nail art with Incoco Green With Envy. I bought this nail applique set last year at Walgreen’s along with Pot Of Gold and Happy go Lucky, which I posted lasted last year.  I didn’t get to post this one then, so I thought I would do so now and unfortunately, if you are really into plaid and tartan, you can only get it on Ebay.

This year I am wearing ILNP Fall Semester.  Unfortunately, I didn’t take pictures in a lighter setting before the polish started chipping so I will have to do another manicure with this color. It really is gorgeous and changes color depending on the light.  Here it looks like a forest green but it really is more of a teal. ILNP has the most gorgeous holographic and chrome polishes.

So my quicky post took me one hour and forty-eight minutes. Not bad. Have a super-duper great St. Patrick’s Day. I am staying home with lamb stew and red wine.

Countdown to St. Patrick’s Day With Incoco Nail Polish Appliqué: Part 2 – Pot Of Gold

As promised, here is the swatch of Incoco’s St. Patrick’s themed nail polish appliqué in Pot Of Gold. It is a mound of fine and chunky gold glitter with a few green specks sprinkled throughout. The green glitter also picks up shades of teal, light blue, pink, and silver, lavender, depending on how the light catches it.

These were not as easy to apply as Happy Go Lucky most likely because there is a lot more chunky glitter. Even after several top coats of Pink Armor, it still had a rugged edge the next day. This also chipped right away because I didn’t immediately apply the top coat after application. Hey, there were some serious BBQ ribs calling my name and I had to answer. I assumed that because Incoco’s are concentrated nail strips with a base and top coat they would be more durable. Regardless, they last longer than any manicure I have ever had with traditional polish.

This appliqué might work as a heavy-duty top coat because you can see through it. As a matter of fact, I just might do that. However, it is dense enough to stand alone. This is a glitzy glamorous manicure and I would wear this if I were going somewhere special, without a doubt. Again, if you want to try these appliqués, you can only get them from Walgreens. Next up, Green With Envy.

Countdown to St. Patrick’s Day With Incoco Nail Polish Appliqué: Part 1 – Happy Go Lucky

Walgreens is a dangerous place, especially if you are a product junkie. I stumbled across the Incoco St. Patrick’s Nail Polish Appliqués and I figured I would go ahead and try them since my Amazon wish list is full of it. They were $4.99 for 12 strips so I bought three designs with the intention of swatching one a day until St. Paddy’s day. That’s the plan.

The one I am wearing, Happy Go Lucky, is stunning and I received a lot of attention. It is a festive blend of multi-toned green stripes sitting pretty on a bed of golden glitter. I loved it so much I really didn’t want to take it off to try the other appliqués. The designs I chose were not overtly Saint Patrick’s themed and can be worn all year-long.

I have used Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips before and I like them, but I love the Incoco version. From an aesthetic perspective, Incoco’s designs are more appealing, more sophisticated and they seemed — fresher, if that makes sense to anyone. They are a perfect fit for my small fingers so I only had to trim away the excess product at the free edge. They adhered well, but not so well I couldn’t adjust the strip if misplaced.

The Sally Hansen manicures lasted longer, but that may have something to do with using a sticky base before applying the strips. The problem with applying a sticky base coat before applying the lacquer strips is that it is harder to correct if misplaced. The Incoco chipped on one nail by day two, but that was all the chipping until I removed several days later.
